Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation – What’s the Big Deal?

o-DOUBLE-WEAR-570.jpgYesterday, I was speaking to one of my friends about how they are loving the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation, and this is not the first time I’ve heard someone raving about this foundation either. It made me wonder if I’m the only one who hasn’t fallen in love with this foundation yet?

During a recent make up workshop I recently attended, the  make up artist explained that Double Wear is the UK’s bestselling foundation and that this is likely to be because it is so thick that it gives really strong coverage. From the people I have spoken to about Estée Lauder’s Double Wear, it seems that it is loved due to it’s ability to cover up acne and pigmentation. I have suffered with both of these things so thought I should try out this foundation the next time I passed by the Estée Lauder make-up counter.

I’ve now tried this foundation at the counter about three times, however I have not decided to purchase this foundation. I feel like the shades that the foundation come in, do not flatter my skin tone at all. I feel that they make me look orange (not a good look!). I do own Body Shop’s Shade Adjusting Shops, so I could play around with the colour, but I would prefer not to purchase yet another foundation which isn’t quite right. On top of that, I didn’t even feel like I had great coverage from the foundation anyway. So ladies, am I the only one who hasn’t seen the magic that Estée Lauder’s foundation can do?

  1. Personally this is my holy grail foundation as I’ve got really oily skin and nothing else works with it but it did take around 3 samples to choose a shade in the end. Just goes to show though there is no one product that fits all 🙂 Jay x
