Review: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation

There are several negative reviews of the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation out there. Personally, I really like this foundation. I love how flawless it makes my skin look and I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. The foundation really does give you an airbrushed look and helps to fade away imperfections. It covers my pores and hides redness well which I think is amazing for the price.

However, I can see a couple of negatives too. I think the range of colours is only suited to certain skin tones. I have three different shades of this foundation and all three of them are more suited to those with pink undertones to their skin. If Maybelline extended the range for different skin tones, I would love this range even ore and I reckon more people would purchase it.

If you have dry skin, you should definitely stay away from this foundation as it will look simply hideous by exaggerating any dry patches. Many of the negative reviews I have seen are around the fact that this foundation can dry your skin. It might be bMaybellecause I haven’t used it regularly, but it doesn’t dry out my skin. When I wear the foundation, it feels so lightweight and I guess depending on the amount you apply, your skin can still ‘breathe’.

Another negative for me is that I don’t think the foundation really covers spots as well as I would like it to, as demonstrated in the picture on the right. However, I guess matched with a good concealer it could do the trick. The picture shows the foundation after I had been wearing it for around 8 hours. I was really impressed with how it looked after such a long day (although I’m not sure the picture does it justice!)

Overall I would say, if you can find this foundation in a shade that really matches your skin tone and type, then go and grab this foundation for a flawless looking finish. It won’t break the bank either!
