The first review comes to you from Aja, founder of rockpaperwhisk.com – a lifestyle blog to bring out the creative side in you.
Before I start reviewing the product, I thought I should let you know this first. I hardly wear make up nowadays. But I still wear a bit of eye make up, i.e. mascara and eyeliner.
For me the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water did exactly what it was supposed to do. It removed the make up perfectly, without leaving any smudges. I have sensitive skin, and as stated on the bottle it didn’t irritate my skin. For someone that doesn’t wear much make up, it will probably last 200 uses as advertised. But I doubt that, that would be the case with people that wear more.
Overall, it does what it is supposed to do and the price is reasonable.
Promise from the Manufacturer:
Like a magnet, the cleansing agents capture and lift away dirt from the skin.
No need to rub to remove impurities and make-up.
The Result: Perfectly cleansed and refreshed skin without rubbing or rinsing. ( Credit: http://www.garnier.co.uk/skin-care/beauty/garnier/garnier-essentials/micellar-cleansing-water )
I have been using this cleansing water for 1 and a half to 2 Months on a daily basis.
I take some cotton pads and remove my Make-Up starting with my eyes first. Then go over the lips and finish it by wiping off my foundation and any other product on my face.
And yeah it works quiet good and is gentle, but I don’t know why this product has so much hype! It works good and the ingredients might be better than the other Makeup removers, but seriously I still need to rub it in order to remove my mascara for example. And I need to repeat the process, so that my makeup is fully removed.
What I like about the product is, that it doesn’t irritates my eyes, it has a nice smell and I think that 5€ is a good price for this big 400ml bottle.
For me it works like some other Makeup removers for example L’oreal Hydra Active 3.
Finally I would like to share my own opinion on the Garnier Micellar Water.
My first thoughts were that the product was great. I compared this to the previous product I had been using and it got rid of a lot more make up than my existing product. I feel like I need far fewer cotton pads when using this which is great. I also love that I can pour some onto a Q-tip and use to clean up my eye liner or mascara. I feel like you can get a lot of use out of this cleanser as I have had it for 3 weeks and used it almost everyday, yet the bottle still looks very full. My skin is sensitive and this product does leave my skin looking good and feeling soft – much better than make-up wipes.
I may be singing its praises however I don’t think this is the best product in the world. The main issue I have with this product is that I feel like I still have to rinse my face after using it because I don’t feel like all the last remains of make up have been removed. And the reason I feel like this is because I can see that it definitely doesn’t remove all of my eye make-up. I reckon the cute packaging and the idea of Micellar water has pulled in a lot of people’s interest but I just don’t think this product is a game changer! I do love the price of this product and I think that also increases the appeal massively, I mean why should skincare be expensive!? If you don’t want to invest in an expensive cleanser I think this would be a good purchase, however I would recommend you team this up with an eye make-up remover to get the best out of it.
I really hope this helps, as always thanks for reading and check out my fellow bloggers too! Many thanks to Aja and Neerosa for their contributions.
